As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I wanted to create a pattern for the Lacy Charms socks. This is the first full pattern I’ve written (not counting the little motif squares), and I wanted it to be as clear and helpful as possible. With every sentence I wrote, I asked myself: “If I were to knit this, would I understand it?” If the answer was yes, I left it; if it was no, I rewrote it.
To make the process even easier, I also created several videos demonstrating key techniques, such as joining in the round, creating the heel, and working the wedge toe decrease. Initially, I planned to publish the finished pattern here on my blog yesterday. However, I decided to include some additional pictures of the socks in the pattern, so I waited. This turned out to be a good decision because today I spotted a few small mistakes that I was able to correct.
This brings me to an important note: this pattern hasn’t been test knitted. Since this is my first pattern and I’m offering it for free, I wasn’t able to provide test knitters with a token of appreciation for their time and materials. That said, if you find anything unclear or notice an error, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email. Don’t feel like you need to figure it out alone - I’m here to help!
I hope knitting these socks brings you as much joy as it brought me while creating them.
Until then, happy knitting!
