Cherry Blossom
January 25, 2024Winter Wisps Headband

As I already mention in the Lillesand blog post, I really like making special gifts for special friends.
I have a special friend who lives in another country, so I don't get to see her as often as I'd like. There are times when we don't talk to each other for weeks because of work, but that doesn't matter because we always know we can count on each other.
I occasionally send her homemade gifts, from homemade jams and pickles to knitted items. This year, I made her a headband. She loves the color white, and I thought a headband would make her red hair shine even brighter!
The pattern is from Drops Design, the Winter Wisps Headband. The set also includes mittens, which I'll definitely make next.
The only problem I'm having is finding the same yarn. I bought it three years ago at a local yarn shop, but they don't have it anymore because it didn't sell well.
I've looked online, but only one shop has it, and they don't have the color I need right now. It's not even listed on Ravelry, which surprises me because I think this yarn is underrated.
The yarn, Betulla from Bertagna Filati, is incredibly soft and warm, and the stitch pattern works beautifully with it.
I'm hoping I can find another ball of this yarn, so I can make her the matching mittens. It would be a great addition to her wardrobe and a reminder of our friendship.
Sending the headband to my friend was a true delight. I know that her eyes will light up with joy when she opens the package. She cherishes every handcrafted item I'm sending to her. It doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive; a simple item made with love will surely touch her heart.
Until then, happy knitting!
