Why the Anne Sweater Stands Out
The Anne Sweater is a truly enjoyable and stunning knitting project that adds elegance to your wardrobe. This charming sweater not only extends the life of summer dresses into early spring and late fall but also provides a stylish and cozy option for both our little ones and ourselves.

Customizing the Sleeves for Fall
I recently spoke with the designer, Melanie Rountree, about knitting longer sleeves instead of short ones, and she suggested an incredible idea: knitting the puffed sleeves to the length of the elbow and then starting to decrease. I'm excited to try this approach for fall.
With its long sleeves, The Anne Sweater would be such a great layering piece for those in-between seasons. It lets summer dresses stay in rotation a little longer, even as the weather cools down. Just imagine your little one spinning around in their favorite summer dress, now topped with the snug and stylish Anne Sweater; keeping them warm, comfy, and as cute as ever on those chilly days. drop.
Crafting with Kremke Soul Wool Vegan Cashmere
I crafted both versions of the Anne Sweater using Kremke Soul Wool Vegan Cashmere, a 100% cotton yarn. I find this yarn particularly suitable for the puff sleeves because, despite numerous machine washes and over a year of wear, it retains its shape remarkably well. Although it does develop some pilling, a wool shaver could easily resolve this issue. I haven't purchased a wool shaver yet, as I'm hesitant and worried it might damage the fabric. I'm still searching for one with great ratings.
Melanie Rountree’s Impeccable Patterns
Melanie's patterns are always impeccably written, and this one was no exception. It was my first garment that I have knitted for myself, and surprisingly, it was a breeze. Her instructions are clear and concise, leaving no room for confusion.
Ever since finishing that first test knit, I’ve jumped at the chance to work on every pattern Melanie releases. There’s something so special about her designs; they’re not just projects, they’re little adventures. Each one feels like a creative journey, full of charm and inspiration.

Why the Anne Sweater is a Favorite
The Anne Sweater has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s not just another knitting project, it’s a piece that’s both beautiful and practical. I love the Idea how it can turn a summer dress into something you can wear all year round. Plus, with its cozy feel and timeless design, it’s perfect for everyone, kids and adults alike.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!
Until then, happy knitting!
