It's getting sweet here, with the incredibly cute design from Sarah Antipenkov the Popsicle Tank This colorful summer knitting project features flavors like Vanilla, Raspberry, Blueberry, and Elderberries, making it perfect for hot days.
For this project, I used from Sandnes Garn Tynn Line, a yarn that feels soft and cool on the skin - perfect for a summer knitting project. The color palette is absolutely wonderful, making it ideal for the vibrant Popsicle Tank design.
Why I Love Working on Colorful Knitting Projects
I always get excited when starting a new project with so many colors in it. Deciding the colors and seeing how it all comes together is so satisfying.
The first thing I did was to draw a sketch. When working on a colorful knitting project like the Popsicle Tank, I always make a sketch to visualize how the color changes will look on the finished garment. If you'd like, you can download the free knitting sketch here (just a heads-up, I’m not an artist!). 🙂
Choosing the Perfect Colors for Your Popsicle Tank
A while ago, I knitted the “I Love Stripes Bandana”, so I already had the colors Kitt and Raspberry in my yarn stash. I tried to work around those two colors.
For the main color, I chose Kitt, and for the stripes, I used Raspberry Cream, Hydrangea, Regatta Blue, Rose Lavender, Lilac, and Rose. These colors from Sandnes Garn Tynn Line worked beautifully together, making the Popsicle Tank a truly vibrant and fun summer knitting project.
The Relaxing Knitting Process
The knitting process is both fun and intriguing. Once you join in the round and start the body, the 3×1 ribbing makes it a relaxing and mindless knitting project - perfect for watching TV or taking on a road trip.
The finished double knitting edges give the Popsicle Tank a polished and professional look, making it a standout piece for summer.
Planning My Next Popsicle Tank
I’m already planning to knit a second Popsicle Tank for next summer! This time, I’m thinking of using Raspberry Cream as the main color. If you’re looking for a fun and vibrant summer knitting project, I highly recommend giving this pattern a try.
Until then, happy knitting!
