With the third pattern, the Washcloths, this beautiful collection is almost coming to an end! I have to say, I really enjoyed designing and creating every single piece of this luxury spa set, because there’s truly nothing better than taking a moment to pamper yourself - melting away the stress of the day, tuning out the noise of the world, and creating a beautiful, peaceful moment just for you. Trust me, you deserve it!
We have already started this self-care and creativity journey together with the elegant, handmade Facial Scrubbies and the Soap Savers. Now, we are going to continue it with these beautiful Washcloths. Stay tuned - there is still one more pattern left in the Jade Serenity Spa Set!
Description
These handmade Washcloths are perfect for a relaxing spa day or a thoughtful gift for someone special. Made with 100% cotton, they’re simple, elegant, and gentle on the skin, perfect for adding a little luxury to your self-care routine.
These washcloths are worked using the Primrose crochet stitch, and I truly love the special border with the eye-catching hanger. The hanger is created in every border row by crocheting 30 chain stitches. When finished, the two loops are loosely tied together. On three of the four corners, we work a little picot stitch.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation Row:
- Chain a (multiple of 3) + 2. (For example, I started with 24 chains + 2 = 26 chains.)
- Starting in the third chain from the hook, work 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc in the same chain.
- *Skip 2 ch, in the next chain work 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
- At the end of the row, 2 chain stitches will remain. Skip one stitch and work 1 hdc into the last chain stitch. Chain 3 and turn your work.

Repeat Pattern:
Continue alternating Row 3 and Row 4 until your project reaches the desired length.
Adding a Border
Row 1:
- Attach yarn to any corner of the washcloth. I am working a standing sc.
- Work Single Crochets (sc):
Work 1 sc into each of the next stitches until you reach the corner. - Create a Hanging Loop in the Corner:
In the corner, work: 1 sc, ch 30, and 1 sc into the same corner space. - Along the Edges:
Work 2 sc into each double crochet (dc) or turning chain (ch-3).
Work 1 sc into each chain-2 space (ch-2) or half double crochet (hdc). - Corners Without a Hanging Loop:
When you reach a corner (other than the one with the hanging loop), work 3 sc into the corner space. - When you reach the last corner, work 2 more sc into the same stitch where you attached your yarn. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Attach yarn to any corner of the washcloth. | Work a sc into evey stitch until the corner. | Work 30 chains stitches (this creates a hanging loop). |
Work 2 sc into the chain 3 space, this will anker the hanging loop and create a corner. | Work 2 sc into each dc or turning chain (ch-3.
Work 1 sc into each ch-2 space or hdc. | This is how your first border row should look like. |
Row 2:
- Ch 1, then work 1 sc into each sc from the previous row.
- When you reach the ch-30 loop in the corner, work 30 chains again to reinforce the loop, then continue working sc into the next stitch.
- When you reach the corner, work into the second sc (the middle stitch): 1 sc, chain 3, 1 sc into the same stitch. This creates a little picot at every corner.
- Complete the round and join with a sl st to the first sc.
Ch 1, then work 1 sc into each sc from the previous row. | When you reach the ch-30 loop in the corner, work 30 chain stitches again. | Continue working sc into the next stitches. |
In the corners work... | ...1 sc, chain 3, 1 sc into the middle stitch. | This creates a little picot at every corner. |
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in all loose ends using a tapestry needle.
- Tie a knot in the ch-30 loop to create a decorative hanging loop.
- Trim any excess yarn neatly.
