Discovering the Skeeter Skirt Pattern
Hello everyone! I'm excited to share with you my latest test knitting project - the Skeeter skirt. As a lover of knitting and testing patterns, I was so happy to have the opportunity to try out this beautiful design.
A Versatile and Customizable Design
The Skeeter skirt pattern is a true gem. With its versatility and customizability, it's perfect for knitters of all skill levels. The pattern allows you to create a skirt that fits your needs, whether you're looking for a mini skirt or a longer, more flowing design. You can also choose from a range of sizes, from newborn to adult, making it a great option for knitters who want to create garments for themselves or as gifts.
My Skeeter Skirt Project: A Fun and Rewarding Knit
I decided to knit the Skeeter skirt for my daughter, using the small flare option and stopping just above the knees for a comfortable and playful fit. The yarn I chose, Linea Pura / Solo Lino from Lana Grossa, was a joy to work with - soft, lightweight, and perfect for a spring or summer skirt. The yarn is a 100% linen yarn, which makes it the perfect fabric for hot summer days, and we had a lot of those.
A Matching Tee to Complete the Outfit
As I worked on the skirt, I realized that I had a bit of extra yarn on hand. So, I decided to whip up a matching tee to complete the outfit. The result was the Rosy Ruffle Tee, a sweet and simple design that pairs perfectly with the Skeeter skirt. I will share more about the tee in another blog post!
Adding the Finishing Touches: A Picot Edge
When it came time to add the finishing touches to the skirt, I decided to try something a bit different. Instead of using one of the standard edging options, I asked the designer if I could knit a picot edge. The result was a beautiful, delicate edge that adds a touch of whimsy to the skirt. I'm so glad I took the chance and tried something new - it really makes the skirt special.
Before starting the edge, whether it's a double edge or a picot edge, I always insert a lifeline into the row where I want to sew on the stitches later. This makes it so much easier to keep track of the row.

My daughter loves the skirt as much as I do. It's always a pleasure to create something special for her, and I know how much she cherishes all of the garments I make for her. As this test knit was finished at the end of the summer, I made it a bit bigger so that she can wear it in the next season too. I'm looking forward to seeing her wear it again and enjoying it!
Why You Should Try the Skeeter Skirt
If you're a knitter looking for a fun project, I highly recommend the Skeeter skirt pattern. It's perfect for knitters of all skill levels, and the finished product is sure to be a hit with anyone who wears it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you've enjoyed this blog post! If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out.
